12/30/2011...Congratulations to Nancy Kempe on the aquisition of the very handsome FEI Andalusian stallion, "Viviano III". We look forward to seeing you in the show ring again in 2012!! :)

 


11/3/2011...Tanzi's Championship photo

11/3-6/2011...Christy took Donnertanz to the SWDC/GAIG Regional Dressage Championships in Katy. Fernando came along to compete in the open show. It was a huge show, 1000 rides!
We had a great show, Tanzi was SWDC 2nd Level Champion,
and Nando was the Open Show Training Level Champion! :)
Complete Results:
Donnertanz, SWDC 2nd Level Champion 66.31%, GAIG 2nd Level 5th place 63.69%, SWDC 3rd Level 3rd place 66.667%, GAIG 3rd Level 64.49% but forfeited ribbon because I couldn't stay for the awards ceremony.

Training Level Open Champion with 74.467%, 73.333% and 72.0%.

 

10/29&30/2011...We hosted the United States Pony Club National Upper Level Dressage Rating this weekend. There was a canditate each for the A, the B and the C3 level ratings. Congratulations to Kim Grier, the Rio Grande Region's newest Dressage Specialty B member!! Way to go!

10/8&9/2011...Christy decided to brush off her show jacket and take Linda Middleton's horse, Donnertanz to the GSEC Platinum Show to see how he'd fare away from home. Fernando went along for the ride. It turned out great! Donnertanz won two classes, was second in two, and qualified at both Second and Third Levels for both the SWDC and USDF/GAIG Championships, a month away! Fernando was able to fill two scratches on Saturday, and ended up winning both classes and won the show HiPoint! :)

5/08/11... Congratulations to Kendall Raisbeck for achieving her United States Pony Club HB rating today. The rating involved extensive testing of conformation, anatomy, lameness, shoeing, teeth, nutrition, diseases, parasites, vaccinations, tack and toxic plants,
We're so proud of you! (And happy to have you as a resource!! :)

March 2011... There are three new equine faces in the barn this month. :)
Nancy Kempe is the proud new owner of two 4yo Lusitanos from Brazil, "Cupido Interagro" and "Capa do Vouga", both purchased at the "Lusitano Collection" auction in WPB Florida.
In addition, Christy is the proud new owner of "Fernando" (Florestan I x Love Tale), a 2005 RPSI gelding bred by Canaan Ranch. He is shown below just days after his arrival, participating in our most recent Felicitas clinic, 3/25-27/11.

2010:

12/12/10...We enjoyed another great dressage clinic with Felicitas Von Neumann-Cosel this weekend. Felicitas is all about creating self carriage with suppleness, throughness, elasticity and confidence. No shortcuts, no tension.

11/01/10... Kendall and "Las Vegas" were named the 2010 GHCTA Year End Champions for Novice Level eventing. Photo above shows them in competition. (copyright Jim Stoner)


10/06/10... Congratulations to Dale Lindsay, on the arrival of her new boy "Oliver"! He is an incredibly sweet 7yo JQuest/Donnerhall gelding (above), working at third level. Oliver is a very lucky boy, he's found a forever home with Dale! :)

10/09/10... Congratulations to Kendall for achieving her United States Pony Club C3 dressage specialty rating today, just a few months after achieving her C2 traditional. The rating involved a lunging exam with Upan, a dressage exam riding her horse Las Vegas at first level (including theory and cavalletti work), as well as a switch ride on another candidate's horse. We're proud of you!

06/26/10...Congratulations to Kendall Raisbeck for achieving her United States Pony Club C2 level traditional rating today with her horse Las Vegas. The rating exam included bandaging, lunging, dressage, stadium jumping, grid jumping, and cross country jumping, as well as an extensive horse management oral exam. Way to go!

03/07/10... Another "Frostbite" show under out belt... it was our 12th annual! The weather was nice, the volunteers were awesome, and the competitors were great. Everyone had a great time. Check out the "our shows" page for award winners and complete results. As a barn, we had Hayley Linton on Coppertone win the "Farewell B Memorial Trophy" and qualify for the SWDC championships in the fall at Training Level. Kendall Raisbeck and "Las Vegas" went to their first recognized dressage show and qualified for the USDF and SWDC fall championships at first level.

 


02/07/10... At the Pine Hill show today, Kendall and "Las Vegas" moved up a level to compete at novice for the first time. They actually had some time faults for going a bit too fast on cross country, but had no jumping faults and had a good dressage score so finished up with the first place ribbon!

 


02/06/10...Congratulations to Freestyle Farm Junior Riders, Hayley Linton and Toni Gee. Hayley won the 2009 HDS Year End Championship for Training Level at Schooling Shows, and Toni won the 2009 Year End Championship for First Level at Schooling Shows. Way to go, girls! (and of course Coppertone and PX Royal Fancy Pants!)

2009:

11/22/09...Kendall and Gus have another 'first", they participated in their first U.S. Pony Club Dressage Rally over the weekend. Her team won their division, Kendall and Gus won the high score award for their musical freestyle at first level, and Kendall and her teammate Toni Gee qualified for Pony Club National Championships in dressage next summer.


11/16/09...Congratulations to Cheryl Carter, her new horse "Valiance" has arrived! He is a 7 year old Dutch Warmblood gelding, schooling third level. He is such a nice mover and a real people lover!


10/04/09... Kendall and Gus ("Las Vegas") competed at their very first horse trials, at Pine Hill in Bellville. They received the best dressage score of the day, 26.8 penalty points, then went clean in both stadium jumping and cross country, so they won their division! :)


8/20/09... Congratulations to Gon Stevens and Linda Middleton on the purchases of their new horses,Vasco and Donnertanz, respectively. They've landed in New York from Amsterdam and are now on their way to Fulshear!! :) Vasco is a third level Dutch gelding by Gribaldi, and Donnertanz is a fourth level Oldenburg gelding by De Niro (Donnerhall). Vasco is pictured above, I'll add one of Donnertanz when I get one!

 

8/15/09... Kendall has a new eventing partner, "Gus", aka "Las Vegas". Gus is a very talented 12 yo Thoroughbred gelding who Kendall hopes to compete in the novice division, and hopefully move up the levels in the next few years. Piglet has prepared Kendall well to undertake this new partnership!

 


7/26/09...San Jacinto Pony Clubbers Becky Brake, Toni Gee, and Kendall Raisbeck (above) travelled to Lexington, Virginia to represent the Rio Grande Region of Texas at the United States Pony Club National Championships in dressage. And their team WON the championship!! Amazing job, girls! :)

 


7/20/09...Kendall Raisbeck rode Farewell B (above) at the Windy Knoll Summer Show, and was First
Level Champion (66.053%) on day one, and Junior High Point winner (68%) on day two.



6/14/09...
Michelle Spencer took Debbie Pate's Hannoverian gelding, Rufus, to the HDS Summer show and rode the Prix St. Georges for the first time (her first and his), and they won the Amateur PSG both days!! They also won a Fourth Level class, and are now just one score away from earning Michelle's USDF Silver Medal!
Kendall Raisbeck took Alyce Rowland's German Riding Pony, Farewell B, for her first USDF recognized dressage show. They won two classes and were second in a third class, and are now planning on going to the USDF/USEF/SWDC Championships in the fall.
Toni Gee took her pony, PX Royal Fancy Pants, to the show as well, and they are now qualified for the championships at Training Level, and are one score away from qualifying for First Level.
Congrats everyone! :)

3/29/09... Gon Stevens got her last score toward her USDF Bronze Medal at the Topsider Farm show today! Now she's got a bronze to go with her silver medal. Congratulations, Gon!!

3/15/09... Kendall Raisbeck riding Farewell B won the large Jackpot Class at the Solstice Farms St. Patty's Day Schooling Show, and actually brought home $300 for the win!! They were also HDS Junior High Point winners with a 76%.

3/8/09... Gon Stevens riding Farewell B was the Second Level Champion at the Frostbite
Show, as well as the Adult Amateur High Point Rider.
Hayley Linton was the Junior High Point Rider, riding her horse Coppertone at Training Level.
