Upan

Upan is a 1991 Westfalen gelding, imported in late 2000.
Christy and Upan began showing in 2001 at Fourth Level,
qualifying for the SWDC and ABIC Championships.



At the June 2001 SWDC championships, they won the Silver Medal
at both Fourth Level and the USAE Freestyle


Upan missed the October 2001 ABIC Championships, due to an injury, but came back nicely in 2002, showing Prix St. George and making his debut at Intermediare I with a 68%+.


Upan was the winner of the 2002 SWDC Regional Championship for his Intermediare I Freestyle. He also won Reserve Champion in the ABIC Regional Championship at Intermediare I.


Upan was the winner of the 2003 USDF/GAIG Regional Championship for his Intermediare Freestyle. He was also the Houston Dressage Society Year End Champion at Intermediare I.


...Upan made his 2004 show debut at Intermediare 2, with his first scores reaching 65.122%

In 2005, Upan continued at Intermediare II with scores reaching into 69%,
and begain his Grand Prix career, qualifying for both the Grand Prix
and Grand Prix Freestyle for the USDF/GAIG Championships.

Upan was the Region 9 USDF/GAIG Grand Prix Freestyle Champion in November 2005, and also won USDF All Breeds Award for Westfalens in 2005 at the Intermediate II level.

Upan had to sit out the 2006 Championships due to an injury sustained in September, although he was qualified at both Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle.

Upan (now 20) and Christy just enjoying each other's company at home.
